To create a colossal 931 hectare land development in an area that was originally deep sea required innovative master planning techniques that were never thought of before. 320 million cubic meters of sand were dredged from the sea to create the 300 islands and 34 million tonnes of large rocks were quarried to build the 27km long break water - a task that was a logistical challenge.
