To create a colossal 931 hectare land development in an area that was originally deep sea required innovative master planning techniques that were never thought of before. 320 million cubic meters of sand were dredged from the sea to create the 300 islands and 34 million tonnes of large rocks were quarried to build the 27km long break water - a task that was a logistical challenge. In a development where island owners can even change shape of their islands before building, a fine balance had to be maintained to allow flexibility yet maintain the overall shape of the world.

Various sea life, such as coral anemones and sea squirts, thrive along and in between the breakwaters surrounding the islands, accepting it as part of their natural environment. The shoreline areas comprise diverse marine life, including sea cucumbers, oysters, sponges, plankton, butterfly fish and jellyfish.
